MEET S. R. ELFTMAN
Storyteller, Explorer, and Troublemaker
As a child, S. R. Elftman discovered a truth many overlook: stories are lifeboats, keys, and the occasional life raft. Writing was her way of navigating the tumultuous seas of life, finding order in chaos and control in a world often beyond her grasp.
Her work spans from whimsical tales reminiscent of The Last Unicorn to darker, brooding narratives that echo the tones of Alix E. Harrow and Heather Fawcett. Whether it’s Gretchen’s journey through the Fated Forest or the Way Witches’ battle to mend the fabric of reality, her stories share one mission — to give readers something to hold onto when the waters get rough.

Writing gives me a place to play, to delve deeper, and to get to know all the parts of myself.
S. R. Elftman

Armed with an MFA and an irreverent sense of humor, S. R. Elftman writes to connect, to explore, and (let’s be honest) to keep out of trouble. When she’s not crafting worlds on the page, she’s crocheting, painting, or redecorating her home (again). She passionately believes in the power of stories to help others build their own boats and islands in life’s vast, unpredictable sea.
